Therefore the children of Israel cannot stand before their enemies; they turn their backs before their enemies, because they are become accursed: I will not be with you any more, except ye destroy the devoted thing from among you.

For this reason the children of Israel have given way, turning their backs in flight before their attackers, because they are cursed: I will no longer be with you, if you do not put the cursed thing away from among you.

δια τουτο δεν θελουσι δυνηθη οι υιοι Ισραηλ να σταθωσιν εμπροσθεν των εχθρων αυτων, αλλα θελουσι στρεψει τα νωτα εμπροσθεν των εχθρων αυτων, διοτι εγειναν αναθεμα· ουδε θελω εισθαι πλεον με σας, εαν δεν εξαλειψητε το αναθεμα εκ μεσου σας·
