to the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves in their stature, neither set their top among the thick boughs, nor that their mighty ones stand up in their height, even all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.

In order that no trees by the waters may be lifted up in their growth, putting their tops among the clouds; and that no trees which are watered may take their place on high: for they are all given up to death, to the lowest parts of the earth among the children of men, with those who go down to the underworld.

δια να μη υψωθη εν τω υψει αυτου ουδεν εκ των δενδρων των υδατων μηδε να σηκωσωσι την κορυφην αυτων μεταξυ των πυκνων κλαδων, και εκ παντων των πινοντων υδωρ, ουδεν εκ τουτων να μη στεκηται εν τω υψει αυτου· διοτι παντα παρεδοθησαν εις τον θανατον, εις τα κατωτατα της γης, εν μεσω των υιων των ανθρωπων, μετα των καταβαινοντων εις λακκον.
