For thou, O Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee a house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.

For you, O Lord of armies, the God of Israel, have clearly said to your servant, I will make you the head of a family of kings: and so it has come into your servant's heart to make this prayer to you.

Διοτι συ, Κυριε των δυναμεων, Θεε του Ισραηλ, απεκαλυψας εις τον δουλον σου, λεγων, Οικον θελω οικοδομησει εις σε· δια τουτο ο δουλος σου ευρηκε την καρδιαν αυτου ετοιμην να προσευχηθη προς σε την προσευχην ταυτην.
