And, behold, the whole family is risen against thy handmaid, and they say, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him for the life of his brother whom he slew, and so destroy the heir also. Thus will they quench my coal which is left, and will leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the face of the earth.

And now all the family is turned against me, your servant, saying, Give up him who was the cause of his brother's death, so that we may put him to death in payment for the life of his brother, whose life he took; and we will put an end to the one who will get the heritage: so they will put out my last burning coal, and my husband will have no name or offspring on the face of the earth.

και ιδου, εσηκωθη πασα η συγγενεια εναντιον της δουλης σου και ειπον, Παραδος τον παταξαντα τον αδελφον αυτου, δια να θανατωσωμεν αυτον, αντι της ζωης του αδελφου αυτου τον οποιον εφονευσε, και να εξολοθρευσωμεν ενταυτω τον κληρονομον· και ουτω θελουσι σβεσει τον ανθρακα μου τον εναπολειφθεντα, ωστε να μη αφησωσιν εις τον ανδρα μου ονομα μηδε απομειναριον επι το προσωπον της γης.
