Then said Saul, I have sinned: return, my son David; for I will no more do thee harm, because my life was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly.

Then Saul said, I have done wrong: come back to me, David my son: I will do you no more wrong, because my life was dear to you today truly, I have been foolish and my error is very great.

Και ειπεν ο Σαουλ, Ημαρτησα· επιστρεψον, τεκνον μου Δαβιδ· διοτι δεν θελω σε κακοποιησει πλεον, επειδη η ψυχη μου εσταθη σημερον πολυτιμος εις τους οφθαλμους σου· ιδου, επραξα αφρονως και επλανηθην σφοδρα.
