Now David had said, Surely in vain have I kept all that this fellow hath in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that pertained unto him: and he hath returned me evil for good.

Now David had said, What was the use of my taking care of this man's goods in the waste land, so that there was no loss of anything which was his? he has only given me back evil for good.

ειχε δε ειπει ο Δαβιδ, Ματαιως τωοντι εφυλαξα παντα οσα ειχεν ουτος εν τη ερημω, και δεν εχαθη ουδεν εκ παντων των κτηματων αυτου· και ανταπεδωκεν εις εμε κακον αντι καλου·
