But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in the honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.

But Jonathan, having no knowledge of the oath his father had put on the people, stretching out the rod which was in his hand, put the end of it in the honey, and put it to his mouth; then his eyes were made bright.

Ο Ιωναθαν ομως δεν ειχεν ακουσει, οτε ο πατηρ αυτου ωρκισε τον λαον· οθεν ηπλωσε το ακρον της ραβδου της εν τη χειρι αυτου και εβυθισεν αυτο εις κηρηθραν και εβαλε την χειρα αυτου εις το στομα αυτου, και ανεβλεψαν οι οφθαλμοι αυτου.
