Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us; for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:

Because you have said, We have made death our friend, and with the underworld we have made an agreement; when the overflowing waters come through they will not come near us; for we are looking to false words for help, taking cover in what is untrue:

Επειδη ειπετε, Ημεις εκαμομεν συνθηκην μετα του θανατου και συνεφωνησαμεν μετα του αδου· οταν η μαστιξ πλημμυρουσα διαβαινη, δεν θελει ελθει εις ημας· διοτι εκαμομεν καταφυγιον ημων το ψευδος και υπο την ψευδοσυνην θελομεν κρυφθη·
