But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned, and the sword come, and take any person from among them; he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

But if the watchman sees the sword coming, and does not give a note on the horn, and the people have no word of the danger, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them; he will be taken away in his sin, but I will make the watchman responsible for his blood.

Αλλ' εαν ο φυλαξ, ιδων την ρομφαιαν επερχομενην, δεν σαλπιση εν τη σαλπιγγι και ο λαος δεν φυλαχθη, η δε ρομφαια ελθουσα καταλαβη τινα εξ αυτων, ουτος μεν κατεληφθη δια την ανομιαν αυτου, πλην το αιμα αυτου θελω εκζητησει εκ της χειρος του φυλακος.
