And Jehovah thy God will cast out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.

The Lord your God will send out the nations before you little by little; they are not to be rooted out quickly, for fear that the beasts of the field may be increased overmuch against you.

Και θελει εξαλειψει Κυριος ο Θεος σου τα εθνη εκεινα απ' εμπροσθεν σου ολιγον κατ' ολιγον· δεν δυναται να αφανισης αυτους παραυτα, δια να μη πληθυνθωσιν εναντιον σου τα θηρια του αγρου.
