For there were many in the assembly that had not sanctified themselves: therefore the Levites had the charge of killing the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto Jehovah.

For there were still a number of the people there who had not made themselves holy: so the Levites had to put Passover lambs to death for those who were not clean, to make them holy to the Lord.

Διοτι ησαν πολλοι εν τη συναξει, οι μη αγιασθεντες· δια τουτο ελαβον οι Λευιται το φορτιον να σφαξωσι τα αρνια του πασχα δια παντα τον μη καθαρον, δια να αγιασωσιν αυτους εις τον Κυριον.
