Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.

And, further, I have taken Ruth, the Moabitess, who was the wife of Mahlon, to be my wife, to keep the name of the dead man living in his heritage, so that his name may not be cut off from among his countrymen, and from the memory of his town: you are witnesses this day.

και προσετι, την Ρουθ την Μωαβιτιν την γυναικα του Μααλων, ελαβον εις εμαυτον δια γυναικα, δια να αναστησω το ονομα του αποθανοντος επι της κληρονομιας αυτου, δια να μη εξαλειφθη το ονομα του αποθανοντος εκ των αδελφων αυτου και εκ της πολεως της κατοικιας αυτου· μαρτυρες εισθε σημερον.
