And they shall answer, Because they forsook Jehovah, the God of their fathers, who brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

And their answer will be, Because they were turned away from the Lord, the God of their fathers, who took them out of the land of Egypt, and took for themselves other gods and gave them worship and became their servants: that is why he has sent all this evil on them.

Και θελουσιν αποκρινεσθαι, Επειδη εγκατελιπον Κυριον τον Θεον των πατερων αυτων, οστις εξηγαγεν αυτους εξ Αιγυπτου, και προσεκολληθησαν εις αλλους θεους και προσεκυνησαν αυτους και ελατρευσαν αυτους· δια τουτο επεφερεν επ' αυτους απαν τουτο το κακον.
