And the people said unto Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? Far from it: as Jehovah liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not.

And the people said to Saul, Is death to come to Jonathan, the worker of this great salvation for Israel? Let it not be so: by the living Lord, not one hair of his head is to be touched, for he has been working with God today. So the people kept Jonathan from death.

Ο δε λαος ειπε προς τον Σαουλ, Ο Ιωναθαν θελει αποθανει, οστις εκαμε την μεγαλην ταυτην σωτηριαν εις τον Ισραηλ; Μη γενοιτο· Ζη Κυριος, ουδε μια θριξ εκ της κεφαλης αυτου θελει πεσει εις την γην· διοτι ενηργησε μετα του Θεου την ημεραν ταυτην. Και ελυτρωσεν ο λαος τον Ιωναθαν, και δεν απεθανε.

And the people said unto Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? God forbid: as the Lord liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not.

The people said to Saul, “Shall Jonathan die, who has worked this great salvation in Israel? Far from it! As Yahweh lives, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he has worked with God today!” So the people rescued Jonathan, that he didn’t die.
