And they ran both together: and the other disciple outran Peter, and came first to the tomb;

They went running together, and the other disciple got in front of Peter and came first to the hole in the rock;

Ετρεχον δε οι δυο ομου· και ο αλλος μαθητης προετρεξε ταχυτερον του Πετρου και ηλθε πρωτος εις το μνημειον,

So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre.
