And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwife come unto them.

And they said to Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women, for they are strong, and the birth takes place before we come to them.

Και απεκριθησαν αι μαιαι προς τον Φαραω, Οτι αι Εβραιαι δεν ειναι ως αι γυναικες της Αιγυπτου· διοτι ειναι ευρωστοι και γεννωσι πριν εισελθωσιν εις αυτας αι μαιαι.
