Howbeit he refused to turn aside: wherefore Abner with the hinder end of the spear smote him in the body, so that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the same place: and it came to pass, that as many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died stood still.

But still he did not go to one side: so Abner gave him a back blow in the stomach with his spear, so that the spear came out at his back; and he went down on the earth, wounded to death: and all those who came to the place where Asahel went down dead, came to a stop.

Αλλα δεν ηθελε να στρεψη· οθεν επαταξεν αυτον ο Αβενηρ με το οπισθεν του δορατος αυτου εις την πεμπτην πλευραν, και εξηλθε το δορυ απο των οπισθιων αυτου, και επεσεν εκει και απεθανεν εν τω αυτω τοπω· και οσοι ηρχοντο εις τον τοπον, οπου ο Ασαηλ επεσε και απεθανεν, ισταντο.
